I know the current economic conditions are less than ideal, but I know you care about the children of the world, and the 7,000 served here in the Big Bend. I am confident you won’t stand idly by when their future depends on your support. This is my personal fundraising page and my goal is to raise $5,000 to ensure a brighter tomorrow for the kids of our organization. Let me tell you a little about what we do...
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend, we make everyday count for kids. Not a single moment goes by where our staff isn’t brightening up a child’s day, giving them a reason to press on and proving there are people who care for and love them. These are not messages a lot of our children receive at home. But for these children and the children who are fortunate to come from a loving home, but a low-income household, we provide them with experiences their parents cannot afford to give them.
We are not just a positive place for kids. We help our kids attain the skills they need to succeed after they graduate from the Club and move on to adulthood. Our kids go through rotations every day after-school and during the summer, which focus on five core areas: - Character and Leadership Development - Community service activities and focused service clubs for various age groups - Educational and Career Development - Tutorial and homework assistance, computer training, special interest groups and career awareness programs - Health and Life Skills - Drug abuse resistance training, pregnancy prevention programs, health awareness and family support programs - The Arts and Cultural Enrichment - Fine Arts program, arts and crafts, dance and drama groups, choral groups, photography clubs and cultural activities - Sports, Fitness and Recreation - Games room activities, individual and team sports, intramural sports, camping, nature studies and special events
With budget cuts in many programs and families financially hurting, we know that the population of children we serve will be struggling to succeed in the coming years. By donating to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend today, you will prove to these children that they are not forgotten. You are fighting to keep their Club around for years to come so that they have more than just a place to go; they have a place to grow.
