Dear Friends,
If you're reading this, I'm confident you are a good person who cares about the way we provide for our children. As president of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Big Bend, I have witnessed first hand the ways in which our dedicated staff and time-tested programs have enabled young people to become the best they can be - even in the face of unthinkable obstacles.
The Boys & Girls Clubs provide a unique combination of programs and
support right in our local community to children and families who deserve our
help.
From spending precious time with a Nobel Peace Prize laureate to volunteering at the local animal shelter; from tutoring our youngest members to reading to a group of senior citizens in a nursing home, we expose these kids to activities, opportunities and role models they would never be exposed to otherwise.
And we do all of this for literally pennies a day per child, the absolute best value you'll find anywhere for investing your charitable contribution. But most importantly, we could not do any of this without your support.
I know the current economic conditions are less than ideal. In fact, they are threatening the very existence of our organization. But I also know that you care about the future of our children, and I hope you will do what you can to support this cause by making a financial contribution to our 2009 Annual Campaign.
It just takes one person to make a difference. Your contribution -- no matter the amount -- will mean the world to thousands of local children living in the Big Bend, as you enable our local Boys & Girls Clubs to provide them with hope for a bright future.
